HOBART A. FARISH, 93, a lifelong resident of South Vienna passed away Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010 in the Springfield Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 1, 1917 in South Vienna, Ohio, the son of Robert and Bessie (Wilson) Farish.

Hobart was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and an avid Cincinnati Reds fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his two daughters and one son-in-law, Trudie Penrose of South Charleston, Ohio and Trixie and Bob Baker of Enon, Ohio; two sisters, Betty Earley of South Vienna, Ohio and June Martindale of Springfield, Ohio; two brothers, Roger and Joe Farish both of Fort. Myers, Florida; three grandchildren and spouses, Kelly (Neil) King, Todd (Julie) Penrose and Ami (Marty) Elliott; seven great grandchildren, Michael Elliott, Jessica Elliott, Jordan Penrose, Rebecca Penrose and Raquel Penrose, Ashlee and Allyson King; numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Ann Schilling.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma Farish in 1993; one sister, Nell Good and one son-in-law, Michael Penrose in 2009.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Scott Griswold officiating.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
