PAUL MARVIN HARRIS, 90, of Springfield, died Sunday evening, July 18, 2010 in his home.

He was born May 29, 1920, in Clark County, Ohio the son of the late Fred L. and Anna B. (Wright) Harris.

In his youth, he participated in baseball, playing with the 1938 Pitchin baseball team, who were state runners-up. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 in the 436th MPRG, serving one year in France. He was a dairy farmer for 50 years, raised registered Holstein cattle, and retired from International Truck & Engine Co. Paul graduated from Pitchin High School and attended The Ohio State University majoring in dairy science. He was a member of the OSU Alumni Association and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Paul was an active member of the Clark County, State, and American Farm Bureau and served as county president. He was a member of the Farm Bureau Security Council. He also belonged to the Miami Valley Holstein Club, holding many offices, and was a 4-H Holstein Club leader for 30 years, serving as superintendent of the Open Class Holstein Show at the Clark County Fair. Paul was a patron of the Ohio Lyric Theater, member of the Clark County Historical Society, H.S. Kissell Lodge #674 F. & A.M., and Scottish Rite in the Valley of Dayton.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Imogene (Conrad) Harris; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Faust of Springfield; sons and daughter-in-law, Philip and Jeanne Harris of Hilliard and Dan Harris of Columbus; grandchildren, Kristin (Matthew) Davis, Brian (Susie) Faust, Aaron Faust, Jonathan (Brooke) Faust, and Carmen Faust, Eugenia Harris, and Evan and Trevor Harris; and great grandchildren, Bo and Mac Davis, Henry and Addison Faust, and Dean and Cassidy Faust. Also surviving is a sister, Ruth Zerkle of Urbana; brother, Norman Harris of Miamisburg; sisters-in-law, Doris Harris of Springfield and June Conrad of Reydon, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Harris in 1956; a brother, Wayne Harris; and sisters, Jeanne Pfeifer and Pauline Harris.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME with Masonic services at 7:30 p.m.

Paul's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Asbury United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Hayes officiating.

Burial will be in Clifton Cemetery.
